ITALY

On Monday 30 bodies were found in a forward area of a boat during a rescue operation off Sicily coast .The immigrants apparently died of asphyxiation.

From the fishing boat were rescued 566 people. In the past 48 hours more than 5.000 migrants have been picked up by the Italian authorities. (Ansa)

 

USA

200 more troops will be sent to Iraq to beef up security at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, consulates in the northern city of Irbil and the southern city of Basra, The White House announced . That will raise the total U.S. troop presence in Iraq to approximately 800. (Al Jazeera)

ISRAEL

Israeli security forces found the bodies of three teenagers who disappeared two weeks ago in the occupied West Bank. The bodies have been found in north of Hebron.

The Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said “Hamas is responsible, and Hamas will pay”. More than 400 Palestinians have been arrested since the three settlers went missing on June 12. (The New York Times)

EGYPT

Two police officers have been killed trying to deactivate one makeshift bomb near the presidential palace in Cairo. At least 11 others were wounded. (Ansamed)

UKRAINE

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart, Petro Poroshenko, have agreed to work on “the adoption of an agreement on a bilateral ceasefire between Ukrainian authorities and separatists”, the French President said on Monday. (BBC)

ISRAEL

Hours after the bodies of three settlers were found in West Bank, the Israeli military has launched 34 air raids on the Gaza Strip in response to 20 rockets fired into Israel. (Al Jazeera)

The chemical weapons from Syria were transferred from a Danish vessel to the US ship Cape Ray earlier on Wednesday, at the port of Gioia Tauro. The destruction of this materials will begin after the American ship has steamed far out to the sea. (La Repubblica)
